Frequently asked questions

Do external portal users need a Kinabase licence?

No. External users can sign in with a simple email code, so they do not need their own Kinabase account or licence. You can invite clients, suppliers, and partners into a portal without adding them as full users in your system.

Are Portals included in my plan?

No. Portals are an add-on feature that you can purchase on top of your existing Kinabase plan. Standard Portals start from £200/month, for a set amount of users.

Can I control exactly which data each portal user sees?

Yes. You can decide what each portal user is allowed to see. For example, a client can see only their own jobs, documents, and progress updates, while a supplier can see only the orders or tasks that relate to them. You can also hide specific details when needed.

Can I brand my portal with our company identity?

Absolutely. You can make the portal look like part of your business by using your own logo, colours, fonts, web address, and welcome message. If you run more than one portal, you can give each one its own branding.

What is the difference between an internal and an external portal?

Internal portals are for your own team, while external portals are for people outside your organisation such as clients, suppliers, and partners. Your team signs in through Kinabase, and external users sign in with a simple email code. Both give people a tailored view of the information relevant to them.
