Safari Networking & Exhibition at Suffolk Chamber: Real Conversations and Connections at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall

There's something uniquely energising about being in a room full of local businesses that are genuinely curious and ready to connect. That's what we experienced at the Suffolk Chambers of Commerce Safari Networking & Exhibition that took place on Tuesday, 27th January at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall. For us at Kinabase, it was one of those events that reminds you why local business communities matter: the relationships are real, the conversations are practical, and the momentum you build can carry well beyond the day itself.

The real highlight of the event was the Safari Networking format itself. Rather than the classic "work the room" approach, Safari Networking involved three different table rounds, with an average of seven people per round. That structure made the experience feel purposeful and inclusive. You weren't hoping to bump into the right people; you were guaranteed a meaningful mix of perspectives at every table.

Each round gave us the chance to learn about different businesses and their stories, as well as share what we're building at Kinabase. The variety was brilliant. We met people from different sectors, including academia, engineering, manufacturing, and other sorts of local service providers. This variety didn't just make for interesting chats; it also sparked ideas. You start to see where challenges overlap, where technology can help other businesses, and where collaboration might be closer than you think.

One of the best parts was how naturally the table conversations flowed into deeper follow-ups at our Kinabase stand. After the Safari Networking portion of the event, we had a steady stream of people coming over to continue the conversation, see a Kinabase demo and ask questions about how we could support their business through a digital transformation. That follow-up is often where the real value lives, when you move from introductions into specifics, and you can tell there's a shared understanding forming.

A number of attendees connected with us on LinkedIn and via email shortly after the event, keeping the momentum going while conversations were still fresh. That kind of quick, intentional follow-through says a lot about the quality of the connections made, and we're excited to see where they lead.

It was genuinely lovely to reconnect with people, both familiar faces and brand new connections. Even better was hearing people mention Kinabase in conversation before we'd even introduced ourselves properly. Hearing others recognise our brand and talk about our business in a positive way was a proud moment for our team, and a reminder that the work we're doing is being noticed.

A huge thank you to the Suffolk Chambers of Commerce for bringing together such a welcoming, well-organised event. We left with new relationships, renewed energy, and some very promising next steps moving forward. This is what networking events are all about.
