Kinabase Automations now let you pull data from a sub-record’s parent with one click. Enabling you to copy parent-record values automatically in automation field mapping.
Need to pass data down the chain? You can now copy any Field from a parent Record when you build an Automation step, so information flows without extra lookups or manual entry. Save clicks and eliminate mismatched data by telling Kinabase to use the parent’s value whenever you create or update its child Records.
Map Fields faster, keep information consistent and remove extra lookup steps.
Why it matters:
- Build workflows faster – pick the parent Record once and map dozens of child Fields in seconds.
- Keep data consistent – avoid typos or stale information by always referencing the single source of truth.
- Remove maintenance – no more helper Lookups or extra Automations just to mirror values.
How it works:
- In the Automation Editor, add or open a Record step that targets a sub-record Collection.
- In Field assignment, click the new “Copy from parent” option next to any mappable Field.
- Choose the parent Field you want and Save – Kinabase will use that value every time the step runs.
When to use it:
- You generate Goods Receipt Items and need the Product from the related Goods Receipt.
- You create line items under an Invoice and want to inherit the customer or tax rate automatically.
Try it now in Kinabase → Automations.
