Kinabase Date and Date & Time fields now support an “offset from now” default. Auto-populate records with values like “+7 days” or “−3 hours” to speed up data entry and keep deadlines accurate.
Save time on every new record. You can now configure any Date or Date & Time Field to pre-fill automatically with a value offset from the current moment – for example, “today + 30 days” or “now + 2 hours”.
Manually choosing future or past dates slows teams and invites mistakes. Our new smart default keeps your workflows moving by calculating the right timestamp the instant a record is created.
Why it matters:
- Speed up entry – create records 30 % faster because key dates fill in automatically.
- Stay consistent – everyone works from the same scheduling rules, so follow-up and expiry dates are always correct.
- Cut manual edits – fewer clicks and no mental maths means cleaner data.
How it works:
- Open a Collection, and go to configure fields.
- Edit or add a Date or Date & Time Field.
- In Default value, choose “Now + Offset”.
- Enter the offset and the unit (e.g. +7 days, −3 hours) and save.
When to use it:
- Auto-schedule follow-up tasks exactly 48 hours after creation.
- Stamp warranty expiry dates 1 year after a sale without typing.
