Kinabase now offers a dedicated temperature field so you can store Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (F) or Kelvin (K) values.
With this temperature field you can run unit-aware calculations and export clean data. No more manual conversions or formula work-arounds—accurate, audit-ready temperature data lives right inside your collections.
Add a temperature field to any collection and capture Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (F) or Kelvin (K) values with automatic unit conversions.
Whether you monitor cold-chain inventory, lab conditions or equipment performance, you can now calculate, chart and export temperature data without leaving Kinabase.
Why it matters:
- Collect once, reuse everywhere – store readings in °C, °F or K and let Kinabase handle the conversions.
- Crunch numbers with confidence – formulas respect offsets, prevent invalid sums and return clear delta units.
- Export clean data – CSV files now include typed zeroes and correct symbols so downstream tools stay in sync.
How it works:
- Open Collection Configuration → Field settings and add a new field.
- Select Temperature as the field type.
- In the details tab: Choose your default unit (Celsius, Fahrenheit or Kelvin).
- Define your Temperature fields' additional settings if required
 - formatting, permissions & validation settings (including limits).
- Use new functions kelvin(),celsius()orfahrenheit()
 in Computed (Number) fields to convert units or combine temperatures with other metrics.
When to use it:
- Cold-Chain Managers logging fridge and freezer temperatures for compliance.
- Design Engineers calculating thermal loads or specific heat capacity in product design.
- Production Engineers monitoring machine cycle temperatures.
