Reporting & Dashboards

Your dashboard, plus the reports and charts built on your data

Your Dashboard

is the page you land on when you sign in - a personalised home for your day-to-day work and the Report s that track what matters to your team.

A report is a page of Chart

s and shortcuts you build yourself, using live data from your collections. Keep one for your own use, or share one with the whole team.

1. The Dashboard page

The Dashboard has four tabs:

  • Home - your day at a glance: tasks due today, Quick Add shortcuts for creating records fast, and what's new in Kinabase.
  • Tasks - every Task assigned to you or your team.
  • Activities - a live feed of notes, emails, and record updates across your organisation.
  • Reports - the reports you and your team have built. See below.

The Reports tab only shows if your role has permission to view dashboard reports. If it's missing, ask your System admin - they can grant access under Settings → Organisation → Dashboard.

2. Reports, widgets, and report levels

A report is a named page you fill with Widget

s - either a Chart widget showing data from a collection, or a Quick Add widget that shortcuts record creation. See Creating reports.

Reports are grouped into two categories:

  • Shared Reports - visible to everyone with access, or restricted to specific roles.
  • Personal Reports - visible only to you.

Kinabase builds reports at three levels, depending on where you need the insight:

  • Dashboard - the Reports tab described above, for organisation-wide reporting.
  • Collection - charts scoped to one collection, opened from its Reports button. See Creating charts.
  • Record - charts scoped to a single record, shown on its Reports tab. See Record reports.
