Calendar

See your tasks laid out by day, week, or month

Your Kinabase Calendar lays out your tasks

by their due dates and any time you've scheduled to work on them - so you can see your workload at a glance and plan around it.

1. What the Calendar shows

The Calendar is entirely built from your tasks - there's no separate meeting or event type to create. Every task can appear in two ways:

  • Due dates - shown as Due: {task name}, in red, on the day the task is due.
  • Scheduled blocks - shown in blue, for the specific time you've set aside to work on a task. This is separate from its due date, so you can plan time for a task well ahead of when it's actually due.

Kinabase's Calendar does not sync with Microsoft 365, Google Calendar, or any other external calendar, and there's no subscription feed to add it to one. If you need to send someone a calendar invite, see Calendar invites below.

2. Navigating the Calendar

1. Open the Calendar

Click Calendar in the sidebar, just below your Dashboard.

2. Select a view

Use the calendar icon at the top to switch between Day, Week, and Month view. Week view is the default, starts on Monday, and shows a line marking the current time.

3. Move through time

Use the arrows at the top to step forward or back a day, week, or month at a time.

4. Show or hide completed tasks

Use the tick-box icon to toggle completed tasks on or off.

3. The Task Sidebar

The Task Sidebar lists your tasks alongside the calendar, with the prompt Click and drag to schedule your tasks. By default it shows the tasks assigned to you; use the dropdown at the top to switch to a different view, and Group to cluster the list by Scheduled, Collection, Record, Due Date, or Status.

1. Schedule a task

Click and hold a task in the Task Sidebar, then drag it onto a day or time slot in the calendar to schedule it.

2. Adjust its duration

In Day or Week view, grab the edge of a scheduled block and drag to change its start or end time.

4. Working with a task from the Calendar

Click a task - either in the Task Sidebar or as a block on the calendar - to open it. From there you can update its title and description, change its Status, set its Due date, and add or remove Assignees, just as you would from the record's Tasks tab. See Using Tasks.

The task's schedule is shown here for reference, but you set it by dragging the task on the calendar itself.

5. Calendar invites

Kinabase doesn't create meeting-event records or send calendar invites directly. The only way to send someone a calendar invite is to attach one to an outbound email, using the Send a calendar invite step in an automation. See Automation Steps and Outbound Emails.
